Garage door questions

Answers about repairs, new doors, estimates and our service area.

Frequently asked questions

Do you repair garage doors, or only replace them?

We repair garage doors and install new ones. Call us about a broken spring, a worn cable or roller, an opener issue, or a door you would like to replace.

Do you offer estimates or discounts?

We offer free estimates and senior and veteran discounts. The price depends on the door and the work needed. Ask about available discounts when you call; restrictions apply.

Where do you work?

We are based in Quincy and serve Boston and the South Shore, including Pembroke. We serve homes and businesses across New England. Call to discuss your location and the work needed.

What information should I have when I call?

Tell us where the property is and what is wrong with the door, or what you would like to replace. The door or opener model can help if you know it.

Do you handle commercial doors?

Yes. Alongside homes, we install and service roll-up and sectional doors for warehouses, shops, and loading docks.

What affects the cost of a repair or a new door?

Repair costs depend on the damaged parts and the work needed. For a new door, size, material, insulation and windows all affect the price.

Should I repair or replace my garage door opener?

That depends on the cause of the problem, the condition of the opener and whether compatible parts are available. A door that is heavy or unbalanced can also appear to have an opener problem. Have the door and opener checked together.

Can I use a door with a broken spring or cable?

Stop operating the door and keep people clear. A broken spring or cable can leave the door unbalanced or unsupported. Do not force it open, pull the emergency release on a raised damaged door or adjust tensioned parts.

Can I choose a custom or carriage-style door?

Yes. We install carriage-style and other custom garage doors. Compare panel styles, windows and finishes in our gallery, then call to discuss a design for your home.
